The School

Castillo Jiu-jitsu is located at 910 South George Washington Boulevard.  It is a school for learning, training, making friends and having fun, so please leave your ego outside the door when entering.

There is nothing more disappointing than to go to a school where you have to be worried about getting injured or stepping on someone’s toes and having to deal with their ego.

Training is supposed to be fun and educational, we are here for your personal development, and that is important beyond anything else!!

Training Tips

What could be more helpful than a page that can provide training tips that would help with your development?!?! All the time I have new students who ask me, after one class, “How am I doing?” … DDUUHHH, this is your first class partner, chill out and take it easy, you still have a lot to learn.

1. You need to learn the basics first of all

2. You need to learn how to drill positions, by doing this I can guarantee you your game will shoot through the roof so fast, it will set of air raid sirens.

3. And you need to slow down and be patient

4. And last but not least, shut up and listen, leave your ego outside the door of the school and I can guarantee you, success will be yours.

This site is owned and operated by Castillo Jiu-jitsu.  Castillo Jiu-jitsu, has been around and involved with Jiu-jitsu in the Wichita area since the UFC first began.

John Castillo, the owner and operator of Castillo Jiu-jitsu has had the opportunity to train with many Jiu-jitsu practitioners, and because of that opportunity to train with real honest to goodness Brazilian Jiu-jitsu Black Belts, it has become very easy for him to determine who is a true representative of BJJ and who is not.

With the popularity of Mixed Martial Arts, there has been a proliferation of MMA and BJJ schools here in America.  Because of this, many of the weak minded have come to believe that just because someone says they are a black belt from Brazil, that there is some kind of mystique about them, nothing could be farther from the truth.  One just simply has to look and see how Americans have no problem taking first place in these MMA and BJJ tournaments.

At Castillo Jiu-jitsu the objective is to instill honor and good character traits in the students, not the arrogance and haughtiness that is becoming so common place in many of the MMA and BJJ schools that have popped up, which is a pure lack of Godliness.

We are going to use this site to help shape and form you into a good jiu-jitsu practitioner and great human being all around.  That is our objective, after all, at Castillo Jiu-jitsu we want QUALITY, not Quantity  We want to assist you on your path to perfection … the path that VERY FEW ever find … or take.
